What brought you to KPU and your program of study?

I chose KPU’s Global Business Management program to strengthen my leadership and international business capabilities. After advancing into regional and global operations roles, I wanted practical, industry‑relevant learning I could apply immediately in a multinational environment. KPU Melville School of Business’s post‑graduate diploma aligned perfectly with my goal of becoming a capable global business leader.

Can you briefly describe your current position and your main day to day responsibilities?

After completing my studies at KPU, I was promoted to an Operations Manager role at AMEX GBT. I lead a team of event specialists delivering meeting and event services for a Fortune 500 life sciences client across North America. I oversee departmental operations, ensure service quality, manage workload planning, monitor performance metrics, and drive strategic process improvements—applying the strategic planning, project management, and leadership skills strengthened through my KPU program.

Which skills, knowledge, or experiences from KPU have been most valuable in your career so far?

KPU's Global Business Management credential has strengthened my strategic planning, project management, and change‑management capabilities. Courses in international business, innovation, and leadership directly enhanced how I optimize workflows, manage teams, and support global operations. The program’s practical, applied learning helped me translate academic concepts into measurable improvements in my department.

What advice would you give current KPU students who want to build a successful career after graduation?

After graduating, I was selected for the 2024–2025 cohort of the GVBOT Leaders of Tomorrow program, which connected me to Greater Vancouver’s dynamic business community. From this experience, I encourage recent graduates to be proactive—apply what you learn, seek internships and volunteer roles, build strong networks, stay adaptable, and continuously develop your skills. Most importantly, take initiative; real growth comes from stepping into opportunities that stretch your capabilities.
