What brought you to KPU and your program of study?

My interest in KPU started from a variety of things. First the smaller classrooms made it easier for me to stay focused in classes. Helpful and experienced professors in my field of study. And a convenient location for me.

Can you briefly describe your current position and your main day to day responsibilities?

Currently I’m working in security as I do patrols and different post orders. As well as volunteering with the Delta Police as I hope to become a police officer in the future with my Bachelors in Criminology.

Which skills, knowledge, or experiences from KPU have been most valuable in your career so far?

Time management, knowledge about criminology, root causes, mental health, drugs, etc. professor Josh Murphy has a very good understanding on all of these topics.

What advice would you give current KPU students who want to build a successful career after graduation?

Talk to people and build connections. Especially in your career path, you can learn about different backgrounds and experiences that could be beneficial for you in the future. And if you struggle with that, start volunteering because it helps you develop more skills that could possibly help you in the future.
