What brought you to KPU and your program of study?

I came to KPU to turn my passion for fashion and marketing into a career. The Wilson School of Design has the tools, like design studios, photo lab, technology, and industry connections, industry events etc. Which led me to apply right after high school.

Can you briefly describe your current position and your main day to day responsibilities?

I manage social media, business development, marketing, and administrative tasks for the Financial Services WFG Office in Burnaby, BC.

In Social Media Management, I grow and engage audiences by creating and curating content, building brand visibility, and fostering meaningful interactions with followers.

For Business Development, I focus on expanding the client base by acquiring new clients, forming strategic partnerships, and driving revenue growth through targeted outreach and relationship-building.

In Marketing, I design and execute campaigns that generate leads, conduct research to identify trends, and collaborate with teams to launch promotions that boost inquiries and engagement.

As an Administrative Assistant, I ensure smooth operations by processing trade tickets, managing e-signatures, handling sensitive documents with care, and improving processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Which skills, knowledge, or experiences from KPU have been most valuable in your career so far?

My field trips to marketing agencies in the fashion industry here in Vancouver and my marketing practicum where I got to experience what it was like working at Herschel's head office.

What advice would you give current KPU students who want to build a successful career after graduation?

First impressions with everyone and anyone are so important. Connections and building a strong presence on LinkedIn. Doing unpaid work in exchange for the experience to build your skillsets. Get to know people in different years, programs etc.
